What Women Can Do in 2022
I had the opportunity to engage with the Women's Business League in Neponset Valley yesterday. In contemplating the topic, I thought a focus on “What Women Can Do in 2022: How Women Can Thrive in Leadership and Times of Uncertainty” was appropriate for a multitude of reasons.
If you didn’t see the recent Harvard Business Review post on leadership competency ratings (completed 2019), women actually score higher in 17 out of 19 competencies. Technical skills and strategic perspective were the only two on which women rated lower.
Women have the opportunity to further leverage their strengths and empower other women at the same time. Also in the study, women actually do not value their leadership strengths until much later in their career. What does that say about the influence women can have on our younger generations?
I, myself, left the presentation feeling energized, empowered, and most importantly, EQUIPPED to inspire, lead, and equip other women to do the same.🙌
There needs to be greater emphasis on the value and strengths women can bring to the world. It starts and stops with each and every one of us.
Thank you so much, Lisa and Lauren for your leadership and the invitation!
